PFCP Dictionary (PFCP / N4)

A dictionary for looking up the key PFCP messages and forwarding rules used for the control between SMF and UPF (N4). The SMF configures the UPF's behavior with rules.

Forwarding rules (Rules)

N4 is UDP 8805; the UPF runs on rules

The destination port of PFCP is UDP 8805 (TS 29.244). The UPF itself has no decision logic and operates according to the rules (PDR/FAR/QER/URR/BAR) that the SMF configures via PFCP. Usage measurement (URR) is the basis of charging (N40 / CHF).
